Narrow the petite brand directory by the things that actually decide fit: published inseam, petite block type, measurement transparency, category and price, and see why each brand matched.

Most petite shopping advice is a list of brand names. That is the least useful part of the answer, because the question is never “who does petite”. It is “who publishes a 26-inch inseam in a trouser I can wear to work, and can I check the measurements before I order”.
So this tool filters on the things that decide fit: the shortest inseam a brand actually publishes, whether the petite range is redrafted or merely shortened, whether per-garment measurements exist to check against, and which categories are a genuine strength rather than a token listing.
Every result shows its reasoning. Where a brand matches, you see which criterion it met and on what basis; where the data does not exist, it says so rather than guessing. Nothing here is a guarantee about a garment. It is a shortlist of places worth checking, built from what brands publish.
Every record in this directory is a real company, and every published figure is cited to the brand’s own site on the date it was last reviewed. Where a fact could not be established from the brand’s own pages, it is marked unknown rather than guessed.

Comparison of Old Navy, Hobbs London across price, petite sizing, inseam range, categories, measurement transparency, alteration likelihood, shipping, evidence completeness and review date.
Not establishedNo usable price sample. Either too few full-price items were listed, or more than half the listing was marked down, in which case the remainder is not a representative sample.

Petite approach
Not establishedThe brand runs a petite range but does not publish how the petite block differs from the regular one. A petite label alone does not establish a redrafted block.

Methodology
How a match is calculated
Rule-based and deterministic. The same directory and the same URL always produce the same order.
Each requirement you set becomes a criterion with a fixed weight. A brand earns a share of that weight depending on whether it meets the criterion fully, partially, or not at all, and the points awarded are then multiplied by how the underlying value was established.
01
Required criteria outweigh preferences
Inseam compatibility carries the highest weight (14), because a published inseam that fits is the most actionable fact available. It outranks a vague claim of petite availability (10). Category needs score 10, measurement transparency 8, price and shipping 6 each. Low alteration need is a preference at 5 and can never remove a brand.
02
Verified data outranks inference
Awarded points are multiplied by provenance: brand-published 1.0, editorial inference 0.6, sample data 0.4. Two brands with identical answers therefore do not rank identically if one of them published its figures and the other did not.
03
Unknown is never a match
A field that has not been established scores zero and raises a warning. It does not disqualify a brand (absent research is not evidence against it) but it can never help one rank.
04
Only contradictions remove a brand
A brand is excluded only when a required criterion is positively contradicted. It does not sell the category, or its shortest inseam is more than 2″ above what you need. Every exclusion is listed with its reason so you can see which filter to relax.
05
Better-researched records rank higher
Up to 6 points scale with how much of a record is established, so between two equally matching brands the one with fewer gaps comes first.
06
Ties break deterministically
Score, then completeness, then shortest published inseam, then name. Ordering never depends on the order of the underlying data file.
